Professor Saw-Wai Hla and graduate student Violeta Iancu have imaged the first nanoscale fractal molecule with scanning tunneling microscopy and measured its electronic properties. Their work, a collaboration with University of Akron (where the molecule was fabricated) and Clemson University, has just appeared in the Journal "Science". The work at Ohio University, which has provided the direct imaging of the fractal molecule, was performed in a cryogenic STM, one of two existing currently at Ohio University within the Department of Physics & Astronomy. The Ohio University Research Communications article by Andrea Gibson can be found at: "Fractal Molecule Imaged by STM"
