Researchers Manipulate Atoms on 3-D Surface

NIRT researchers have reported in “Physical Review Letters” individual atom removal from a cluster of silver atoms on a three-dimensional surface. This type of manipulation can be done on a flat surface, but advancing to a three-dimensional surface requires even greater precision and control.
